The Kapor family of organizations works to remove barriers to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education and tech careers for underrepresented people of color. We take a comprehensive approach to fixing the leaks at every stage of the tech pipeline, from K-12 education through the workplace with education programs, advocacy, and social impact investing.
Kapor Center wanted the 100 Days of Action for Racial Justice Campaign to have a lively feel that would translate digitally and in-person. By combining a strong sans-serif typeface with a script font we were able to allow the two contrasting weights to overlap and lean on one another creating a logo and brand identity that would make an impact.
The color palette that was chosen for this campaign closely mimicked the corporate colors of the Kapor Center while ensuring the colors were saturated to mimic the bright, punchy topics that would be at play in the upcoming months. The textured stroke that falls behind the logo was inspired by hand-painted protest signs – a familiar site in the days, weeks, and months leading up to the 2020 election.
Templates were created for social media showcasing how the colors, textures, patterns, and font choices would come together to make impactful messages. This lead the Kapor Center to create updates for their followers regarding webinars, marches, and voter information.
